Area Guide
The Rive Hotel is located in the Hassan district, which is a very central and very dynamic part of Rabat; many things can be visited on foot from the hotel. A nice walk of about 15-20 minutes would take you to two among the most important landmarks in the city: the magnificent Hassan Tower, minaret of an incomplete 12th-century mosque, and the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Such a historic complex is a compulsion for any traveler who steps in Rabat or would rather spin out an entire delightful morning for exploratory activities.
The hotel is located near the Ville Nouvelle (New City) of Rabat, which dates from the French protectorate. The main boulevards are Art Deco in style, within 10-15 minutes' walk are the government buildings, and the main train station – Rabat Ville. The area houses the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Morocco’s leading museum of modern art. It is more adjacent to walk to all ancient monuments, as well as modern business in the heart of the city.
The neighbourhood around the hotel abounds in dining and daily amenities. A walk for a few minutes from the hotel will land you up in front of Moroccan traditional to international fast food restaurants and cafes. A good alternative from the hotel is also to take the Rabat-Salé tramway which has a station close by well-connected with other parts in the city, it's quite modern, and not to forget quite an effective route to the old medina or the Kasbah of the Udayas, although those are quite a walk away.
